Phyllosphere microbiota: Community dynamics and its interaction with plant hosts

نویسندگان

چکیده

Plants are colonized by various microorganisms in natural environments. While many studies have demonstrated key roles of the rhizosphere microbiota regulating biological processes such as nutrient acquisition and resistance against abiotic biotic challenges, less is known about role phyllosphere how it established maintained. This review provides an update on current understanding community assembly mechanisms which plants microbes establish for plant health.

A Synthetic Community Approach Reveals Plant Genotypes Affecting the Phyllosphere Microbiota

The identity of plant host genetic factors controlling the composition of the plant microbiota and the extent to which plant genes affect associated microbial populations is currently unknown. Here, we use a candidate gene approach to investigate host effects on the phyllosphere community composition and abundance. To reduce the environmental factors that might mask genetic factors, the model p...

Oxidative Stress in Fungi: Its Function in Signal Transduction, Interaction with Plant Hosts, and Lignocellulose Degradation

In this review article, we want to present an overview of oxidative stress in fungal cells in relation to signal transduction, interaction of fungi with plant hosts, and lignocellulose degradation. We will discuss external oxidative stress which may occur through the interaction with other microorganisms or plant hosts as well as internally generated oxidative stress, which can for instance ori...

Epiphytic and Endophytic Phyllosphere Microflora of Cassytha Filiformis L. and Its Hosts

In the present study, samples of Cassytha filiformis L. and healthy leaves of two of its host plants viz. Bougainvillea spectabilis Willd (Nyctaginaceae) and Citrus aurantifolia Swingle (Rutaceae) were collected simultaneously from different areas of Lahore, Pakistan. To analyze epiphytic microflora, washings of host leaf/parasite stem were used for the isolation. For endophytic microbes, steri...

Interaction between Intestinal Microbiota and Serotonin Metabolism

Gut microbiota regulates the production of signaling molecules, such as serotonin or 5-Hydroxytryptamine: 5-HT in the host. Serotonin is a biogenic amine that acts as a neurotransmitter in the gut and brain. There is a perfect interaction between human gastrointestinal microbiota and the serotonin system. The gut microbiota plays an important role in the serotonin signaling pathways through the...
